The Florida Life
I spent five days last week in Florida visiting my parents. I was really wanting to be able to share my pregnancy with them in a way I just couldn't do by texting pictures or talking on the phone. The looks on their faces when they saw me and my bump for the first time at the airport were confirmation that I was correct.
The weather was perfect; warm and not too humid. We spent most days in the pool, my super-fit Mom swimming laps as I lay floating like a pregnant sloth.
An outstanding dinner made by my Mom my first night home. These marinated and grilled vegetables were amazing. I can't wait to make them at home and will share the recipe soon.
On Sunday, we took our traditional trip down to Sarasota for crab legs, a stroll around St. Armand's circle, complete with the mandatory Kilwin's Chocolate stop for ice cream cones.
To top off the perfect day, we watched the sunset on Lido Beach. It is the one on which we spent countless family beach weekend trips while I was growing up. Just being on that sugar sand is like a recalibration for my soul. When I'm giving birth, I think this shall be my happy place to think on. I can't wait to take my little guy here so he can dip his sweet little toes in the same waters and we can make some new beach memories.
